Amazing Frog? is a platform game for the Nintendo Entertainment System that was developed and published by Activision. Released in 1988, it is one of the few platform games for the system, as well as one of the few Nintendo games that was not developed by Nintendo.
Taking on the role of a frog, the player has to complete a variety of jumps, rolls, and other physical challenges. There are also power ups that can be collected that can increase the frogs abilities. The game has a total of twelve levels that are progressively more difficult.
Amazing Frog? is a game where a frog jumps and collects flies to get points. The flies are spread out across the screen and come in different sizes. There are also different traps, such as spiders, bugs, and moths, that the frog can jump on to avoid. There are three types of flies: the small green flies, the large red flies, and the huge green flies. The small green flies are worth one point, the large red flies are worth two points, and the huge green flies are worth five points. There are also two modes of play: a normal mode and a time-attack mode. In the normal mode, the player has to play a certain number of levels to get to the next level. The player will play a new level every time they pass a level, and they will start at level 1. In the time-attack mode, the player has to try and get as many points as they can in 90 seconds. As the player gets points, the time decreases. The player can also play with a friend, or a friend can play with the player.
The graphics are simple but effective. The backgrounds are made up of a scrolling pattern of green. The frog is animated, and the animations are fluid.
Due to the high level of difficulty of this game, it is not highly replayable.
